It’s tough being a military kid.

Constant moving and changing schools. Leaving friends behind. Saying goodbye to your mom or dad for months or years at a time . . . never knowing if they will return home.

The youngest heroes in the military don’t put on fatigues, but they sacrifice for our freedoms. Children of military families don’t often get the attention they deserve.

That is why, through your caring support, American Bible Society produced a very specialized Military Teen Bible. The I AM Bible includes devotions written by authors with more than 100 cumulative years of ministry experience to military teens and has been extremely well received by more than 37,000 young people. It is designed to allow the teens to interact with it, through coloring the cover, writing notes inside, and more.

Middle school student Erin* says, “I love that we get to draw all over it, color it, and that it’s made to be written on.”

High school senior Jake* says, “It’s cool to have something that speaks just to us, you know? I’ve never been able to talk about how God interacts with my family, moving, and all that stuff.”

Kate Harlow*, Youth Ministry Coordinator at MacDill Air Force Base, says the Teen Bibles make a real difference for those who struggle with the role they were born into.

“The I AM Bible has been amazing, and I have seen a marked change in my students,” she says. “I am seeing a closer group of students more engaged in conversations, asking questions about Scripture, and eager to share their thoughts on lessons with one another.”
