Delivering Good News to Spiritually Starved Cuba

When people receive their first Bibles, they are moved to tears.

After many years of being restricted to Bible distribution, the church in Cuba is growing rapidly. Despite these years of growth, it has not been unusual for churches in Cuba to have only a handful of Bibles that must be shared.

That’s why American Bible Society continues to share Scriptures in this spiritually starved area. “This is the time to equip people with God’s Word,” said Ruth, a Bible Society coordinator. “God has given a great opportunity to the people of Cuba. When [they receive] God’s Word for the first time … they are moved to tears.”

Misael was just 10 years old when he received his first Bible. “The Bible verses have helped me to live better,” he said. “Before knowing the Bible, I used to fight a lot with my grandma, but after reading the Bible, I don’t fight with her anymore. Now I am speaking to the children in my neighborhood about knowing God and sharing with them the importance of living for God.”

American Bible Society’s financial partners help make stories like Misael’s possible. While the doors are open to spread God’s Word, we must continue the work to reach those still unreached in Cuba with Bibles.

We’re grateful for he ongoing support of our financial partners to help change more lives like Misael’s — ensuring souls in this once closed-off country now have the life-changing Word of God.

Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.

Help us share God's Word where needed most.
