Scripture Reaches Global Families

American Bible Society is providing Scripture resources for the Papal visit to Philadelphia.

The eighth World Meeting of Families will be held in Philadelphia from September 22-27. This international gathering of Catholic families is scheduled to draw more than 300,000 visitors each day and nearly 2 million visitors for the weekend visit of Pope Francis; more than 150 countries have projected attendees. As a result, the meeting represents a significant opportunity to share God’s Word with a global audience.

In addition to running a pre-event media campaign championing the power of family and hosting a booth to promote the new “Build Your Bible” app, American Bible Society is providing registered attendees with a multilingual version of Luke’s Gospel in their conference backpacks; it will feature translations in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, French, Italian and Portuguese. More than half a million Bible portions will also be delivered to countries around the world. “We are sending God’s Word into regions of the world that are hungry for evangelism,” says Alicia DeFrange, Manager of Catholic Ministry Programs for American Bible Society.

Please pray that the World Meeting of Families will be used to share God’s Word with millions around the world.

Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.

Help us share God's Word where needed most.
