Volcano Victims in Guatemala Need Your Help
Your prayers and support can bring hope today.
On June 3, a volcano suddenly erupted in Guatemala. Surrounding towns were engulfed in heavy ash, hot gas, and a storm of rocks. More than 190 people are still missing—and 90 have been confirmed dead.
Heavy rains in the region threaten to form acid rain or to cause dangerous landslides and floods. This has made the situation dire for first responders, who are risking their lives navigating harsh terrain, intense heat, and unbreathable air as they search for survivors. Officials fear more eruptions could be coming soon.
How you can bring hope and healing to volcano victims:
Our ministry partner, Bible Society of Guatemala, is rushing to bring spiritual and humanitarian aid to survivors. The Society is providing Bible-based trauma healing: group sessions designed to help grieving people process their pain in light of God’s love. The Society is also providing Bibles to comfort survivors in hospitals and living in temporary shelters. In partnership with local church communities, it is distributing much-needed food and clothing to ensure physical, emotional, and spiritual needs are met with grace.
