Pray for Women Serving in the Military

God’s Word strengthens the heroic women who serve in the U.S. Armed Forces

Did you know, women have served in the U.S. military since World War I? In those days, women served as nurses, seamstresses, cooks, and support staff.

Since then, women have labored to become equal members of the U.S. Armed Forces. Today, more than 200,000 women serve in active-duty military.

Brave servicewomen defend our freedom, all while trying to build marriages, raise children, and develop relationships. They face danger on the battlefield, frequent deployments, multiple moves, and new career paths.

Military servicewomen need strength and peace to live out this brave life.

The Bible: God’s Battle Plan

God wants to provide peace and encouragement to every military servicewoman through his Word. Whether they are weary, feel lonely, or need strength, God’s Word reminds them that he is the source of all hope.

To encourage military women in their journey, a partnership between Armed Services Ministry and Planting Roots (a Military Women’s organization) have created Bible Boot Camp for Military Women.

This 45-day devotional consists of three weekly challenges designed to help military servicewomen dive into the powerful truths found in God’s Word. Each reading contains personal stories from the lives of military servicewoman, military wives, and retirees. It also has a Bible verse and reflective questions to journal or discuss with others. At the conclusion, military servicewomen will discover what it means to march in joyful and victorious cadence with God.

We are praying that women in uniform will lean on God’s Word for everything they need. His Word is battle-tested and will not let them down. Will you pray with us?

3 Ways to Pray:

  1. Pray that military servicewomen would be drawn to the life-giving messages found in the Bible. Pray that they will find connection, stability, strength, and purpose for their lives as they read God’s Word.
  2. Pray for God to physically, emotionally, and spiritually protect all women serving our nation’s military.
  3. Pray for the Holy Spirit to empower servicewomen who face the challenges of their duty including long deployments away from loved ones.
