Answered Prayer: Thousands in Charlotte Complete Bible Reading Plan
Thank God that many people in Charlotte are digging deeper into the Bible and coming together to spur Bible engagement in their city
In May, the United Missionary Baptist Association celebrated the completion of the Community Bible Experience, which took people from 15 different churches in Charlotte, North Carolina, on an 8-week journey through the New Testament. Will you join us in thanking God for the American Bible Society ministry partners who supported this initiative and for bringing people in Charlotte together to read his Word?
Although Charlotte is home to many churches and has a strong Christian culture, many people in the city struggle to apply the Bible to their everyday lives.
Local faith leaders responded to this challenge by inviting churchgoers to participate in a city-wide Bible-reading initiative, which was designed to help them explore Scripture with fresh eyes.
Thousands in Charlotte Engaging with God’s Word
More than 5,600 people across Charlotte signed up and completed the 40-day Bible reading plan. And as they met weekly in discussion groups, their lives were transformed through the Word!
These church communities saw firsthand the impact that God’s Word can have in their churches, in their neighborhoods, and across Charlotte. One group leader commented, “We can’t stop now. We’ve started something great, and now people look forward to talking about the Bible every week.”
Will you join us in thanking God for getting people in Charlotte excited about reading his Word together?
PRAYER OF THANKS:
Father, thank you that many people in Charlotte are experiencing a renewed passion for reading Scripture. We pray that people’s lives would be transformed as they actively engage in Scripture. We also pray that the city of Charlotte would be transformed as church communities answer the Bible’s call to bring your love and hope to others.
