Pray for Churches on the Front Line of this Pandemic

Supporting those called to shepherd and love others as Christ loved the church

In times of crisis, the church plays an essential role in providing spiritual support for those suffering trauma and loss.

And the coronavirus is no different.

From the onset of this global pandemic, churches have stepped in to show God’s love and care. But as the church cares for others, they too need support and care.

Caring for the Caregivers

For more than 200 years, American Bible Society has served the church in its mission to share the gospel with their communities. As we find ourselves in this very trying time, we seek to once again serve the church so they can bring Jesus’s hope and healing to so many who need it right now.

In partnership with the National Association of Evangelicals, we have put together a care package for the church that provides tools for sustained ministry during and after the pandemic. Additionally, we offer support to churches by providing:

  • Free Ministry Resources. Bible-based trauma healing ministry equips churches to help individuals work through their pain using God’s Word. Church leaders are provided training, resources, and support to help them respond to trauma in their communities. Church leaders are also encouraged to attend healing sessions and bring their burdens as caregivers to Jesus.
  • God’s Word. Share Light: In the Darkness a Light Shines is an 8-day Bible reading plan that explores who Jesus is, why he came, and why that matters to us.
  • Prayer. Your prayers are powerful! Jeremiah 29:12 says, “Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me and I will answer you.” Church leaders, pastors, and volunteers need your prayers. Will you pray?

Let’s Pray Together:

Father, thank you for churches in the U.S. and around the world caring for the hurting in their communities. Strengthen them so they can be a beacon of light in these dark times.
