Pray for New Bible to Encourage Military Teens

Pray that God would meet military teens in their struggles as they read the new I AM Bible

When Chloe walked into the lunchroom, she saw groups of friends chatting and laughing together. But Chloe sat alone. This was her first day at a new school—the third new school in just two years. At home, Chloe had to stay with relatives, because her dad was serving a second deployment in Iraq. Chloe spent many hours in her room, feeling anxious and lonely.

Many military teens like Chloe struggle with instability and uncertainty. Without support and encouragement, teenagers of deployed military parents are at a higher risk for drug use, alcohol, and suicide.

These teens need to know that God cares for them and is near to them. That’s why Military Community Youth Ministries and American Bible Society’s Armed Services Ministry have partnered to bring God’s life-giving truths to military teens through a new interactive Bible called I AM.

The I AM Bible features two 40-day Scripture journeys and 46 thematic devotionals that explore what the Bible says on topics such as identity, friendship, purpose, loneliness, and transition. Every page includes blank space for military teens to document their unique journey with God.

In this first year, our partners plan to distribute 15,000 I AM Bibles to military teens—offering them the opportunity to interact with God through his Word. Join us in praying for military teens to discover God’s love, companionship, and purpose for their lives as they read the I AM Bible.

Pray for:

  • Pray that military teens would engage with the I AM Bible and find their true identity in Christ Jesus. Pray that the I AM Bible would encourage and grow these future leaders, who have the potential to shape our political and religious landscapes.
  • Pray for the distribution of the I AM Bibles. Pray that military chapels across the world would eagerly receive and efficiently distribute the Bibles to military teens.
  • Ask God to give wisdom to every parent, chaplain, youth worker, and volunteer sharing the I AM Bible. Pray for opportunities for them to lead military teens into an ever-deepening, lifelong journey with Jesus.
