God is moving across the five boroughs of New York City through an initiative called Saturate New York!

In 2012, more than 40 churches partnered to visit, pray, and serve those affected by Hurricane Sandy’s devastating floods—birthing Saturate New York. It was a holy flood of God’s love and compassion that brought renewed hope to many hurting people.

But that was just the beginning. Churches began to wonder, “In a city as vast and complex as New York City, can we saturate every neighborhood with the knowledge of Jesus?”

The answer was a roaring YES!

Jesus for Every New Yorker

Today, hundreds of churches are united through Saturate New York to bring the gospel message of Jesus to 300 neighborhoods, 240 zip codes, and 59 community districts. The goal is to reach 8.5 million people living in 3.3 million households with the truth of God’s Word!

Through door-to-door gospel sharing and outreach events, churches distribute door hanger bags with multilingual JESUS film DVDs, tracts, children’s books, and coloring books. Everyone is invited to download the Saturate NYC app, a digital tool that connects believers within a given zip code. The app features daily devotional content, information on upcoming local events, shared prayers, and more.

In June alone, 2,000,000 resources were distributed. Another 700,000 households have received a visit and a beautiful gospel gift from a caring local church.

Pastor Mariel Encarnacion of Calvary Assembly of God shares how God is working through this ministry. “I gave a woman one [Scripture book] while she sat in her car, I walked away and came back five minutes later. She rolled down her window, called me over and said she was just thinking, ‘How am I going to get through what I’m going through?’ She was recently injured, with two children at home … she picked up the book that I gave her, which read, “God will carry you through,” and she began to cry—and I cried with her. That is God!!!!”
