Our nation and world have been shaken. People everywhere have been living in fear, uncertain what tomorrow could hold. But hearts have also been open, and God’s people have had an enormous opportunity. American Bible Society was ready to respond — meeting the needs of people around the world with comfort and hope from God’s Word.

Enabled by the generous support of our financial partners, we continue to do everything possible to get critically-needed Scripture resources into the hands of those who need them most. Our response has included:

• Rushing tens of thousands of Bibles, New Testaments, and other Scripture portions to those in the U.S. and other nations hit hardest by the Coronavirus outbreak.
• Providing over 75,000 physical copies and nearly 5,000 downloaded copies of Beyond Disaster: A Survivor’s Guide to Spiritual First Aid to individuals and churches worldwide. This powerful booklet, available in multiple languages, has helped many find answers to questions such as: Where is God in my pain? and How can my wounded heart heal? Along with many other resources, it continues to be available as a free download on our website.
• Creating new booklets, including 20 Bible Truths to Declare During the COVID-19 Outbreak and Peace, Be Still: A Kid’s Guide to Living in Crazy Days, which can also be downloaded for free by anyone, anywhere.
• Working closely with churches across the country and ministry partners around the globe to make sure they have the resources they need to comfort the fearful and afflicted.
• Preparing our call center team to point callers to the best possible resources for people who need hope and encouragement in times of crisis.
