Filling a House with Hope
ABS Staff Delivers 150 Bibles to the Ronald McDonald House

In June, American Bible Society staff members delivered 150 Bibles to the Ronald McDonald House (RMH) on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Located near several hospitals specializing in pediatric oncology, the RMH provides lodging, meals and therapeutic care for up to 84 child cancer patients and their parents while the children undergo treatment. Families from around the world can remain together during months and even years of therapy. Over its 30-year history, RMH has provided solace for more than 25,000 families.
To inspire hope for those in her care, the Chaplain at RMH, Cherilyn Frei, provides every incoming family with a Bible. She said, “These Bibles will allow families and children to bathe themselves day-to-day in God’s Word — to find meaning for what they’re going through. Hope is all we’ve got to give. When God touches hearts through His Word we know we’ve done our work.”
Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
