Ashley Phillips of Wagoner, Okla., won the first Flips Ahoy contest on ShareYourStoryNow.org

Ashley Phillips (pictured) of Wagoner, Okla., has even more to be thankful for. Her entry was selected randomly in the first Flips Ahoy contest hosted on ShareYourStoryNow.org. She and her fellow contestants had submitted audio, video and written accounts of how God's Word is at work in people's lives.

Ashley told how God is healing her from the effects of her father's damaging words with Song of Songs 4.7.

She wrote:

I have not seen or heard from my dad since I was two, and the last words that he said to me were forever ringing in my head: “I'm leaving because you're not good enough.” That was almost 18 years ago.

But about a week ago, I was reading in Song of Solomon chapter 4 and read this verse: “All beautiful you are, my darling; there is no flaw in you.” At that moment God just breathed restoration into my soul.

My earthly father's words are not fully gone yet, but they are slowly being rewritten by God's words from Song of Solomon 4:7!

She received a new Flip™ Ultra Video Camcorder, and a donation of $1,000 is being made in her name to the Light of the Amazon, a boat ministry of the Bible Society of Brazil, supported by ABS.
