God’s Word Touches the Hearts of Vulnerable Americans

We’re providing Scripture to the homeless, the poor, prisoners, and more.

Juan* walked into a Bible study for members of a New York homeless shelter carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders. With disheveled hair and blood-shot eyes, Juan told the group he couldn’t take it anymore. Life was just too much.

But as he heard the pastor talk about God’s unfailing love for him, Juan wept harder and began to cling to the bilingual Bible he had received as he walked through the door. It was a Bible that was provided thanks to financial partners of American Bible Society.

The other Bible study members — visibly battling the discouragement of their own life situations — lit up as they talked about Scripture and shared the promises they had discovered in its pages. And at the end of the evening, the group gathered around Juan and prayed for him. Their prayers were filled with the hope and resilience they had discovered as they studied God’s Word.

With support from our financial partners, American Bible Society is providing tens of thousands of Bibles to America’s vulnerable — the homeless, the poor, prisoners, the traumatized, and the lost.

Every Bible our financial partners help provide has the potential to save lives … because far beyond the numbers we report are people who desperately need God’s Word. We are grateful for those who help place Bibles in the hands and hearts of vulnerable Americans!
