Introducing James Puchy
Chaplain (COL) James J. Puchy, now retired from the Pentagon where he served as the Commandant of the Army Chief of Chaplains' Office, is executive director of American Bible Society's Armed Services Ministry.
Chaplain Puchy is uniquely positioned to respond to the complex realities brought about by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. He will shepherd a ministry to meet the critical spiritual needs of our nation's military.
Chaplain Puchy reminds us, “It is not simply 2 million that have been deployed nor 24 million veterans . . . it is fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters, grandparents, aunts and uncles of active duty and retired military. It is a people group of more than 100 million people — that is a third of our nation . . . it is a mission field
