“It was an answer from God.”
Making it possible to reach millions of the unreached with God’s Word.
Nothing can cancel the Word of God — not even pandemics, cyclones, or terrorist attacks. But these are just a few of the hindrances encountered during the translation of two new Bibles launched in Mozambique.
Thanks to the prayers and support of our caring friend, Bibles in the Xichangana and Emakhuwa languages are now available for millions of the unreached in Mozambique!
“It was an answer from God,” shared Valente Tseco, General Secretary of the Bible Society of Mozambique, “a reminder that life isn’t just about challenges — there are also reasons to celebrate!”
What makes these two Bible translations even more extraordinary is that they are the FIRST complete Bibles in the history of these two people groups. These two translations can potentially reach millions of unreached people in Mozambique with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
In December, the Bible Society joined with Emakhuwa-speaking Christians in Nampula to celebrate the culmination of a 22-year project to translate the Bible into their language.
Emakhuwa is spoken by around five million people in Nampula Province and its troubled neighboring province, Cabo Delgado, where terrorist attacks have been escalating.
“It has been our dream to have this Bible translation and today that dream has become reality,” said Reverend Samuel Chone of the Xichangana Bible translation team. “I thank God because I now have the Bible in my mother tongue.”
Thank you to our generous friends for making this possible.
