Dr. Philip Towner has been named dean of the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship at the American Bible Society. He joined the staff in February. He will work alongside Dr. Robert Hodgson, until Dr. Hodgson retires this year after five years of leading the Nida Institute in one of the most esteemed periods in its history.

Prior to his appointment, Dr. Towner was the United Bible Societies' Director of Translation Services in Reading, England. He says he looks forward to working with the “extremely gifted and scholarly staff . . . to bring the transforming Word of God to the whole world.”
