Until recently, the Nyaneka people in Angola, Africa had never seen a Bible in their heart language. Thanks to the support of friends like you, the long-awaited translation was completed and released last year.

Milja*, age 20, was very excited: “I walked an hour and a half from my community to see with my own eyes what God has done for my Nyaneka language.” Prior to this release, the only Bible available to her was in Portuguese, which she could hardly understand.

Adriano* never dreamed the day would come when the Nyaneka people “would have a Bible like other people.”

Joaquim Kambindangolo, one of the regional Bible Society translators on the project, emphasized the urgency for this translation and others, saying, “Many people still do not know God and worship idols. We have to show them the true God . . . so the Word of God must reach everyone.”

In 2023, the Bible Society global network completed Scripture translations in 106 languages, reaching over 1.25 billion people . . . one in eight people worldwide.
