3 Bible-Based Resources for Mental Health Awareness Month

Care for yourself and others with these free Bible-based resources

[God] helps us in all our troubles, so that we are able to help others who have all kinds of troubles, using the same help that we ourselves have received from God.

2 Corinthians 1:4 GNT

Do you ever wonder if God cares about your mental health?

The Bible tells us that God’s plan for our lives is to give us a hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11). But how do you trust God when you’re struggling with depression? Or when you feel overwhelmed by anxiety? How do you hold on to God’s promises when you experience the realities of suffering in a broken world?

While you can’t find the term “mental health” in the Bible, Scripture tells the story of a loving Creator who cares for your physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental wellbeing. In his Word, God promises to uphold us through every painful experience we face (Isaiah 41:10). He tells us that he makes us whole through the sacrifice of Jesus, our Wounded Healer (Isaiah 53:5). This restoration includes the promise of a perfect, resurrected body—free from all sin and suffering—in the new heavens and the new earth (1 Corinthians 15).

This Mental Health Awareness Month, we share the promises of God’s Word in the form of three free, Bible-based resources from our Trauma Healing Ministry. For many people, mental health can be impacted by experiences of trauma. Trauma is a wound of the heart and mind, and its symptoms can be difficult to recognize. Without healing, people who endure trauma often feel far away from God and other people.

Through Bible-based trauma healing, we combine the restorative truth of God’s Word with mental health best practices to help people heal from trauma and find hope for the future.

Here are three free trauma healing resources you can use and share this Mental Health Awareness Month.
