The Great Commission tells us to “go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). But there are still segments of the world’s population that have never heard the name of Jesus.

They are unreached.

Approximately two billion people around the world- 41% of the world’s population- have yet to be reached with the gospel. They don’t have access to God’s Word. Not having any Scripture means not knowing or understanding who Jesus is.

But by the power of God’s Spirit and the diligent work of Bible agencies, God’s Word is reaching those beyond reach.

Bringing the Gospel to the Ends of the Earth

Reaching those who have never heard of Jesus takes collaboration, creativity, and God’s help. American Bible Society has been working with Bible Societies around the world and other partners to bring the life-giving messages of the Bible to hard-to-reach places. God’s Word is reaching the four corners of the earth through:

• Bible Translation. Together with other Bible translation agencies, we’re translating Scripture for those who still do not have the full Bible in their heart language. We hope to translate the Bible into every living language by 2026.
• End-to End Ministry. This ministry targets remote communities that have low literacy rates and few established churches. Through End-to-End, people hear the gospel through screenings of the JESUS film, audio Bible listening groups, and access to a Bible in their own language for those who can read.
• Digital Tools for Sensitive Areas. In areas like Central Asia, the Balkans, and the Middle East where Christianity can be considered dangerous, we provide access to the Bible using new technology.

Praise God, his message of hope is spreading! But we can’t stop now. We must press on until everyone has heard the good news of Jesus. That’s where you come in. Your prayers matter. They open doors for God’s Word to go forth. So, join us as we pray for the Great Commission to be fulfilled.

Pray for:

1. Open hearts. Pray for hearts to be open to hear the gospel and respond to Jesus’s invitation as their Savior.
2. The Workers. Pray for their protection and strength as they carry out the work.
3. Resources. Pray for financial, material, and human resources needed to bring Bible ministry around the world.
4. Victory over spiritual warfare. Pray for all hindrances to the gospel to be removed especially in places where the gospel is opposed.
