Answered Prayer: Syrian Women Embrace Bible-Based Trauma Healing

Thank God for the Bible’s impact on a recent Syrian Women’s healing group.

Let’s thank God that nine Syrian women were able to attend a Bible-based trauma healing group. As they worked through American Bible Society’s Bible-based trauma healing curriculum, the women were introduced to Scripture’s message of hope alongside mental health best practices.

This curriculum, which was created for people who have experienced trauma such as war, abuse, or natural disasters, was especially relevant to these women who have lived through the Syrian crisis. In group discussions, they explored topics including where God is in the midst of suffering, the process of grief, bringing pain to the cross of Jesus, how to forgive others, and how to prepare for the future both practically and spiritually.

After the session, Syrian men and women requested training to spread this Bible-based trauma healing ministry. The session facilitator added, “Our hope is to talk plainly about Jesus, the Healer. We covet your prayers. We have seen the Lord at work.”

PRAYER OF THANKS:

Father, thank you for bringing hope and healing to wounded hearts. We pray for the Syrian women who’ve recently experienced your comfort and peace. May they know the love and hope of God, experience your goodness daily, and share the hope they’ve found in Christ.
