Today, Find Encouragement in 5 Verses from Scripture

God’s Word is full of encouraging reminders for every circumstance you face

Where do you find encouragement?

You might have a friend who exemplifies the friendship described in Proverbs 18:24 (GNT): “Some friendships do not last, but some friends are more loyal than brothers.”

Or maybe your spouse is the person you turn to in difficult moments: “Two are better off than one, because together they can work more effectively. If one of them falls down, the other can help him up” (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a GNT).

God blesses us with a variety of encouragers in our lives. These friends and loved ones help us through hard times, remind us of God’s blessings, and challenge us to grow in our faith. However, we all experience moments when we are in dire need of encouragement, but no one can offer us the words of hope that comfort our souls. In those times of confusion and pain, we might feel alone and uncertain of God’s love.

Where can we turn for encouragement during hard moments?

GOD’S WORD OFFERS ENCOURAGEMENT FOR EVERY MOMENT

Our heavenly Father knows that in difficult times we need to refocus our hearts and minds on his truth. He has given us the gift of his Word to provide us with daily reminders of his love and care for us. When friends fail us and loved ones can’t begin to grasp the depths of our suffering, the Bible offers eternal encouragement. Here are five verses you can turn to when you need the encouragement and hope of God’s Word.

When you feel alone, remember that God is with you wherever you go.

“Remember that I have commanded you to be determined and confident! Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I, the LORD your God, am with you wherever you go.”
Joshua 1:9 GNT

When you feel weak, remember that Christ gives you the strength you need in every moment.

I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me.
Philippians 4:13 GNT

When you face troubles, remember that God invites you to cast your cares on him.

Leave your troubles with the LORD,
and he will defend you;
he never lets honest people be defeated.
Psalm 55:22 GNT

In difficult times, you can encourage yourself and others with reminders of your ultimate hope in Jesus Christ.

God did not choose us to suffer his anger, but to possess salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us in order that we might live together with him, whether we are alive or dead when he comes. And so encourage one another and help one another, just as you are now doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:9-11 GNT

When you feel discouraged by temporary troubles, remember that God has promised us a future of eternal glory.

For this reason we never become discouraged. Even though our physical being is gradually decaying, yet our spiritual being is renewed day after day. And this small and temporary trouble we suffer will bring us a tremendous and eternal glory, much greater than the trouble. For we fix our attention, not on things that are seen, but on things that are unseen. What can be seen lasts only for a time, but what cannot be seen lasts forever.
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 GNT
