Broken Hearts Healed through the Power of Scripture
Pray for Bible-Based Trauma Healing Ministry to reach hurting people in Bangladesh
Martina, a Bangladeshi woman, suffered mental and emotional anguish after the death of her husband. In addition to grief, Martina and her two children also faced financial crisis. “My husband was the only earning person in the family. There was nothing left to earn except homestead land,” said Martina.
But Martina’s life was about to change.
Martina joined a Bible-based Trauma Healing group at her church. She recounts what happened next: “I was very happy to hear the words of God and discussions from the Bible, and all the wounds in my heart were healed spiritually,” shares Martina. “I have found peace by feeling God’s grace and His merciful powers. In particular, the session about ‘Forgiveness’ and ‘Taking Your Pain to the Cross’ deeply touched my heart and increased my faith. I feel free from my pain that I’ve been suffering from my husband’s death. I have come to know that God is the only source of peace.”
Healing the Wounds of Trauma in Bangladesh
There are many people in Bangladesh, like Martina, who suffer deep wounds of the heart as a result of violence, crime, loss, domestic abuse, political unrest, and natural disasters. To address the spiritual and emotional needs of traumatized people, Bangladesh Bible Society has partnered with local churches to offer Bible-based Trauma Healing Ministry. Trauma Healing Ministry helps local churches become a place of healing for the traumatized. Using God’s Word and field-tested program models and materials, people in the church learn basic trauma healing skills so they can help those who are hurting.
In 2020, Bangladesh Bible Society reached more than 1,000 traumatized people through healing groups; 19 volunteers were trained to become trauma healing facilitators; and more churches are becoming interested in the program.
We thank God for healing hearts in Bangladesh. And we want to pray for even more lives to experience the healing power of God’s Word. Join us as we pray.
Let’s Pray Together
Father, thank you for freeing Martina from her pain and sorrow. We ask you to help the Trauma Healing Ministry reach more people like Martina, who are suffering pain to experience your peace. Grant Bangladesh Bible Society your favor, as they seek to expand this ministry into all parts of their nation. In Jesus’s name, we pray. Amen.
