A Gospel Legacy: Remembering Billy Graham
American Bible Society Honors the Life and Legacy of the Rev. Billy Graham
Happy are those who mourn;
God will comfort them!
Matthew 5.4 (GNT)
American Bible Society joins with the Christian community in celebrating the life and legacy of the Rev. Billy Graham, who died on February 21, 2018, at the age of 99.
Rev. Graham dedicated his life to sharing the good news of the Bible with people around the world through evangelism crusades and his organization, The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. American Bible Society had the privilege of working with Rev. Graham to provide Scripture Portions for those attending his crusades.
Rev. Graham has been an honorary member of American Bible Society since 1965, and from 1963-1966, he served as vice president of United Bible Societies, a global fellowship of Bible Societies that American Bible Society helped create in 1946. Rev. Graham was the recipient of two awards from American Bible Society: the American Bible Society Award in 1995 and the Heroes of the Faith Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
American Bible Society Board and staff extend sincere condolences to Rev. Graham’s family at this time of loss. We are thankful for his years of dedication to the message of the Bible.
During this season of mourning, join us in remembering the important message that Rev. Graham shared so often with the world: that God’s grace transcends life and death. We pray 2 Peter 1:2 for those grieving the loss of Rev. Graham today: “May grace and peace be yours in full measure through your knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.”
Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
Help us share God's Word where needed most.
