These are just some of the shining reviews from the Faith and Liberty Discovery Center’s very first guests. This weekend in Philadelphia, the Bible will be front-and-center as our nation celebrates its independence—and it’s all because of you, our faithful prayer warriors and generous supporters!

The new Faith and Liberty Discovery Center will host its grand opening celebration after more than six years of planning, prayer, and preparation. This $60 million attraction invites guests of all faiths or no faith at all to learn about the role of God’s Word in our nation’s history and to consider the enduring importance of the Bible today. The grand opening coincides with Philadelphia’s annual Wawa Welcome America Festival and will kick off the Center’s new schedule of welcoming the public six days per week at full capacity.

AN INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCE FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY

The Faith and Liberty Discovery Center sits within view of Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and the National Constitution Center on the corner of Independence Mall, which is often called America’s most historic square mile. The Center’s iconic Beacon sculpture—which intertwines three columns representing the Declaration of Independence, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bible—beckons curious passersby to take a closer look. An outdoor stage hosts free performances by local actors. This weekend, guests will witness the stories of Sojourner Truth and Abraham Lincoln come to life and listen to selections from Frederick Douglass’s famous speech, “What to the Slave is the Fourth of July?”

Inside the Faith and Liberty Discovery Center, guests can explore 25,000 square feet of interactive gallery space featuring groundbreaking technology. Their journey through the museum will be guided by a handheld smart lamp, which they can use to digitally capture favorite Bible verses, quotes, and stories to revisit once they return home. Each gallery offers a new immersive experience. In one gallery, guests will come face-to-face with 21 American Changemakers whose lives and legacies were shaped by God’s Word. In another, guests will be able to listen to a soundscape of songs and Scripture read by American icons like Johnny Cash. And during a one-of-a-kind theater experience, guests will stroll through the streets of historic Philadelphia as they watch William Penn’s quest for religious freedom unfold.

SIX GUIDING VALUES TO LIGHT OUR NATION’S WAY FORWARD

At the heart of the Faith and Liberty Discovery Center are the six biblical values featured in its galleries. By exploring each value in the context of American history, guests will be challenged to consider the guiding role of God’s Word in our nation. Thanks to their smart lamps, guests can access their favorite values at home and dig deeper into what the Bible means for their own lives.

FAITH

From our founding to today, America has been an experiment in religious freedom built on a legacy of faith.

LIBERTY

Liberty is a common theme in Scripture and in the lives of biblically-inspired heroes who worked to expand American liberties throughout the centuries.

JUSTICE

During historic conflict and modern division over difficult topics like slavery, suffrage, racism, and immigration, God’s Word points Americans toward true justice.

HOPE

In times of personal heartbreak and national tragedy, the Bible offers Americans words of comfort and hope.

UNITY

The American ideal of “one nation, under God, indivisible…” mirrors the Bible’s vision of unity and love among diverse people.

LOVE

While each of these biblical values has a role to play in America’s future, God’s Word tells us that “the greatest of these is love” (1 Corinthians 13:13 GNT).
