Letters from Paul Episode 8: 1 Timothy 6:3-10

This video series invites you to explore the letters of the apostle Paul

What did we bring into the world? Nothing! What can we take out of the world? Nothing! So then, if we have food and clothes, that should be enough for us.

1 Timothy 6:7-8 GNT

In the eighth episode of our “Letters from Paul” video series, you’ll explore the words of Paul from 1 Timothy 6:3-10.

Paul mentored Timothy, who served as his messenger to many different churches. 1 Timothy is a letter to the church in Ephesus, which was mired in false teachings and division.

In this passage, Paul focuses on the dangers of pride and false doctrine. Straying from the teachings of Jesus leads to arguments, Paul writes. He denounces one of those false teachings by telling the Ephesians that religion is not a way to become wealthy. He cautions his readers against loving money and instead points us all toward contentment as we look to God to provide for our needs.

Watch and be inspired by Paul’s reminder to remain true to Christ’s teachings.
