New Video Series from American Bible Society: Liana’s Favorite Books
Take a tour of American Bible Society’s vast collection of rare and historic Bibles with our beloved librarian, Liana Lupas.
“I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of a Library.”
Jorge Luis Borges
American Bible Society is delighted to announce the launch of a new online video series entitled “Liana’s Favorite Books,” starring the beloved curator of our vast biblical library, Dr. Liana Lupas.
“My collection consists of just one book of which American Bible Society has 46,000 copies in over 2,500 languages and dialects,” Liana says. “That book, of course, is the Bible. No other book is read by so many people.”
Officially established in 1817, American Bible Society’s library of rare and historic Bibles is one of the largest and most distinguished collections of Scripture in the world. In “Liana’s Favorite Books,” our resident librarian and historian will explain the history and features behind dozens of history’s most beautiful and influential copies of the Holy Scriptures.
With Liana as your guide, you will marvel at such treasures as a 1476 Latin Bible produced in the very infancy of the printing press and the very first illustrated Bible printed in America. She is excited to go on this biblical adventure with you.
“I love each and every one of my books,” Liana says. “I hope you will love them as much as I do!”
