Pray for the Pakistani Church in the Wake of a Deadly Attack

Join us in praying through the words Psalm 91.

While hundreds prayed inside a church in Quetta, Pakistan, on Sunday, two suicide bombers stormed a group of guards at the front of the building. Though the guards killed one of the assailants, the second assailant forced his way inside and detonated his bomb vest.

The catastrophic attack killed at least nine people and injured at least 50 more.

In the aftermath of this act of violence, we invite you to pray for the people of Pakistan. Pray for those grappling with the loss of loved ones. Pray for those who sustained physical injuries during the attack. And pray for Christians throughout the country who feel unsafe and afraid.

As you pray, consider reciting the words of Psalm 91:1-6:

“Whoever goes to the Lord for safety,

whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty,

can say to him,

‘You are my defender and protector.

You are my God; in you I trust.’

He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers

and from all deadly diseases.

He will cover you with his wings;

you will be safe in his care;

his faithfulness will protect and defend you.

You need not fear any dangers at night

or sudden attacks during the day

or the plagues that strike in the dark

or the evils that kill in daylight.”
