This Election Day, Choose Love
A hopeful message for hateful times from Faith and Liberty Award Winner Dr. Arthur C. Brooks.
“Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.”
Matthew 5:44b
Although 2021 is considered an “off year” for political elections across the U.S., Americans are as concerned as ever about the heated cultural moment we are living through as a nation.
According to American Bible Society’s 2021 Faith and Liberty Award Winner, Dr. Arthur C. Brooks, 93 percent of Americans hate how divided we’ve become in this country. (Perhaps you’re already dreading the inevitable arguments that will break out at your family’s Thanksgiving dinner later this month!)
But as Dr. Brooks reminds us in a stirring keynote address delivered at the Faith and Liberty Gala earlier this fall, the gospel of Jesus Christ gives us a new way of thinking about old problems. Christians, he posits, are called to be forces of reconciliation and unity in a country that’s being torn apart.
Watch Dr. Brooks’ inspiring talk below and pray that God would use Bible engaged believers like you to spread the grace and love of Jesus in these challenging times.
