Fleeing Ukraine, Yana Left Her Bible Behind—But Carried Its Hope with Her

One day, Yana’s life was normal.
The next, she and her two children were saying goodbye to her husband and fleeing the deadly war in Ukraine.
Yana only packed what they could carry for their long journey to safety in Poland. She didn’t even have room to pack her Bible. But she carried its message of hope in her heart.
“The Bible is always important for us, especially now,” Yana says. “It can open the aim of our being here on the earth and God’s plan as for us. It can give us hope.”
Now, Yana is in Poland and hopes to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with her Polish and Ukrainian neighbors.
“I am really happy that I can share God’s Word here, even in this situation,” she says. “It’s a blessing for us!”
