How to Pray for Victims of Trauma in Thailand
Bible-based Trauma Healing Reaches the Hearts of the Thai People
Thailand is known as the land of smiles—a warm, friendly culture where people are kind and welcoming. But behind some of those smiles lie a very different story. Human trafficking, displaced people, poverty, domestic violence, and natural disasters have taken a toll on this large Southeast Asian country’s population. Given the shortage of available mental health professionals, coupled with the cultural tendency to avoid openly sharing painful circumstances, there is tremendous opportunity to bring Scriptural hope and healing to this nation in need.
Bible-Based Trauma Healing
Since 2015, Thailand Bible Society and Cornerstone Counseling have been empowering the Thai people to talk about their pain. Bible-based trauma healing helps create a safe place for trauma survivors to share their suffering and realize they are not alone. During trauma healing sessions, trained facilitators take participants through Scriptures that remind them of God’s love and nearness in their suffering. Through various activities like writing laments and artwork, they learn how to lay their deepest wounds at the feet of Jesus for healing.
And he heals! One attendee said, “I became more understanding of myself and others. The experience of bringing my pain to the cross healed me. The healing process has continued in my life.” Jesus is setting people free!
The goal is to see 7,000 Thai people experience emotional and spiritual healing by 2020. Will you join us in praying for Jesus to heal the people of this nation?
Let’s Pray Together:
Father, thank you that the Thai people are experiencing freedom from fear, depression, and anxiety through trauma healing. We pray that they will invite Jesus into the deepest wounds of their soul and allow him to restore their joy and peace. We also pray you will grow this ministry to reach every heart in need.
