American Bible Society is proud to introduce the new Warfighter’s Study Bible. Designed by our Armed Services Ministry with our Military members and Veterans in mind, this study edition includes Military-specific resources to guide our nation’s bravest heroes in God’s Word.

The Newest Chapter in Two Centuries of Service

From our earliest years, American Bible Society has served our nation’s Military with God’s Word.

In 1817, just one year after our founding, American Bible Society presented 65 Bibles to the crew of the U.S.S. John Adams. Since then, we have provided more than 60 million Bible resources to U.S. Armed Services members, Veterans, and their families, all completely free of charge thanks to the generosity of faithful believers like you.

From the Civil War to the Gulf War, we have delivered God’s Word to men and women facing combat. During World War I and World War II, we distributed nearly 12 million Bibles and Scripture portions to the United States Armed Forces. Today, we continue to serve our Military members through a network of dedicated chaplains who partner with us to encourage and equip men and women with Scripture.

We deploy the hope of Scripture to Military members and Veterans through free Bible-based trauma healing resources and Military-focused Scripture series, which assist them in processing challenges through the lens of Jesus’s love. We also care for Military families through free programs like Hero Squad, which delivers Bibles and faith-based resources to Military families and kids.

Today, the Warfighter’s Study Bible joins our rich collection of resources developed to help us serve our Military with God’s Word.

A Military-Specific Study Bible

The Military experience is unique. So is the Warfighter’s Study Bible.

This Bible is adapted from Crossway’s ESV translation and includes extensive commentary, notes, and maps. In addition, it offers content contributed by 18 authors from the Military community. This special content uses common Military language to help familiarize Military members with the books, stories, and truths of the Bible.

Content includes:

• The Military Bible Challenge, a 75-day mission to pray, read, reflect, and respond to Scripture
• God Understands, a study series that uses stories of Military members and Veterans to help readers connect with relatable experiences as they learn about God’s understanding and grace
