Praise God! Blind Students in Kenya Receive Their First Bible

Join us as we pray for End-to-End ministry to provide God’s Word to those still waiting

What a joyous occasion at Thika School for the Blind in Kiambu, Kenya, as students welcomed their very first Bible! Previously, teachers read the Bible to visually impaired students and they took turns sharing one large Brille Bible. But thanks to the generous donation of more than 1,400 Braille Bibles by Bible Society of Kenya (BSK), students now own their own Bible!

This means students can experience God in the format with which they are most comfortable. They can access the truths in God’s Word whenever they want. And they can connect with the Bible’s message of hope at home, school, or wherever they are.

But they’re not the only ones!

Bringing God’s Word to All Kenyans

To help people across Kenya engage with Scripture, BSK runs the End-to-End ministry. This ministry seeks to provide God’s Word in a language and format that speaks to their heart. This multi-part ministry makes God’s Word accessible through:

  • screenings of the JESUS film,
  • audio Scripture listening groups,
  • personal Scripture provisions, and
  • discipleship through local churches

BSK is using End-to-End ministry to reach segments of society that have not interacted with God’s Word and experience high rates of Illiteracy. They provide God’s Word in audio and visual formats, so all Kenyans have an opportunity to encounter God. In addition to the Thika School for the Blind, they have provided God’s Word for the poor in society, people in prisons, and people in hard-to-reach places. Since launching the ministry in 2016, more than 3,630 audio Scripture listening groups have been established.

Praise God! Thousands of Kenyans are hearing God’s Word and being impacted by its message. But we still need your prayers. Join us as we pray for more lives to be reached with the gospel, for BSK and local churches as they distribute Scripture, disciple new believers, and press into new areas, for the expansion of the End-to-End ministry in Kenya, and for lives to be transformed by the power of God’s Word.

Let’s Pray Together

Father, we give you thanks for the lives that are being transformed by your Word in Kenya. We pray that the End-to-End ministry will continue to reach those who have yet to experience the life-changing gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray for wisdom, strength, and provision for BSK and local churches, so they can continue to provide your Word.
