A Special Day to Pray for Bibles and People
Join in prayer on May 9, 2019, for Bible ministry around the world
Did you know that in addition to American there are Bible Societies in Australia, Cuba, Ethiopia, Iraq, Pakistan, and the Bahamas? In fact, there are nearly 150 Bible Societies working in 240 countries and territories around the world. This network is known as United Bible Societies.
United Bible Societies exists to make the Bible available to everyone. It serves churches of all denominations and is actively involved in Bible translation, publishing, distribution, engagement, advocacy, and ministry.
Each year on May 9, Bible Societies around the world unite in a global day of prayer. On this day, we come together to thank God for powerfully working through our ministries to make his Word available. We also seek his guidance for ongoing efforts.
For 215 years, Bibles Societies have labored to bring the hope found in God’s Word to people who desperately need it. But the work is not done. There are still millions more who need to know God loves them. Will you join us in praying for the work of Bible Societies in the United States and around the world?
