The Bible. It’s not just a book. No, the Bible is so much more. The Bible contains words of life. It inspires transformation, reveals purpose, and enables hope. And through it we discover God.

At American Bible Society we are passionate about helping people discover God through the Bible. For over 200 years, we have been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word.

And today our mission remains the same!

We continue to bring the Bible’s message of hope and salvation to people all around the world. Here are some of the Bibles that we have recently published and distributed:

• The Warfighter’s Study Bible. This Bible was created to deploy God’s comfort and strength to U.S. Military Members and Veterans. It features reading plans, study notes, maps and illustrations, and Military-related articles written by Veterans and experts.
• Faith and Liberty Bible. This study Bible invites readers to explore the Bible as a freedom text. It offers 813 articles and quotations from people in American history who have drawn on the Bible in their work and writings.
• Restoring Hope Bible. This Bible was created to guide readers on a path of emotional and spiritual healing. There are over 2,500 highlighted verses that guide the user through trauma towards hope and healing.
• African Women Devotional Bible. This Bible addresses the unique spiritual needs of African women. It features 365 culturally specific devotions and 52 articles and profiles of Bible heroines.

We are honored to have distributed over 6.9 billion Bibles around the world. But there are still millions of people who don’t have a Bible. They haven’t discovered God through the pages of Scripture.

We Need Your Prayers

Your prayers can help people around the world encounter our amazing God. Your intercession can connect them to the Bible where they discover God’s love, healing, peace, and plan to rescue them through his Son Jesus.

In Matthew 18:19 (CEV) Jesus says, “I promise that when any two of you on earth agree about something you are praying for, my Father in heaven will do it for you.” So let us unite our hearts in prayer for Bibleless people around the world. Here’s three ways you can pray.

• Pray for those who are yet to hear the gospel of Jesus. Pray that they will receive God’s Word soon. Pray that God’s Word will have an impact on their lives, transforming them as they read it for the first time.
• Pray for American Bible Society, Bible Societies around the world, Bible agencies, and churches working to deliver God’s Word. Ask God to grant them strength, endurance, and every resource necessary to provide bibles where needed most, along with the tools to disciple local communities.
• Pray for greater access to God’s Word through creative resources such as solar-powered Bibles, audio Bibles, and Bible listening groups being used to share God’s Word.
