Nella*, a Burundian woman, was having struggles at home. She quarreled with her husband. She quarreled with her children. There was no peace in her home because of the constant quarreling.

Although Nella is a Christian, she didn’t read her Bible much. She could spend many days without reading it. Nella didn’t even attend church very often. “I was spiritually weak. I behaved wrongly in many ways … I hadn’t yet experienced the real life with Jesus,” said Nella.

Then a friend invited Nella to a Bible listening group as part of the End-to-End ministry. And her life was transformed.

The Life-Transforming Power of God’s Word

At a local church, Nella listened to the words of the Bible being played on a device called a Proclaimer. That’s when she heard 2 Timothy 2:23-24 (CEV) which says,

Stay away from stupid and senseless arguments. These only lead to trouble, and God’s servants must not be troublemakers. They must be kind to everyone, and they must be good teachers and very patient.

After hearing these words, Nella changed her ways. She stopped quarreling. Even her family noticed that she was not the same as before. “The fact of participating in the End-to-End program changed radically my life, through the Word of God I heard via the Proclaimer. Well, I started to be thirsty of reading the Bible and all excuses which impeded me to go to church ended,” says Nella. Today, Nella’s life is dedicated to prayer, reading the Bible, and communing with other Christians.

End-to-End Ministry

Bible Society of Burundi introduced End-to-End ministry to engage Burundians in the Word of God, in a language and format that speaks to their hearts. This multi-part ministry makes God’s Word accessible through screenings of the JESUS film, audio Scripture listening groups, personal Scripture provisions, and new churches in places where none existed before.

Thanks to the End-to-End ministry, people like Nella can now experience real life with Jesus. But there are still many more who have yet to see, hear, and experience God’s love for them through his Word. That’s where you come in. We need you to pray.
