Pray for One Million Bibles for the Church in Cuba
Believers in Cuba need Bibles: let’s ask God to meet this need!
In 2 Corinthians 9:8, the apostle Paul delivers this message to the church in Corinth: “God can bless you with everything you need, and you will always have more than enough to do all kinds of good things for others” (CEV).
Paul encouraged the church’s leaders to keep giving of themselves to support the believers. As they gave spiritually and materially, God provided for all their needs and even increased their resources, enabling them to keep giving.
Today, we invite you to join us in praying for church leaders in Cuba to also believe that God will supply their need of one million Bibles as they generously give to support the spiritual growth of Cuban believers.
One Million Bibles for Cuba
The church in Cuba is growing! Over the last ten years, it has tripled in size. This growth is credited to the churches’ collective efforts to share God’s Word with the 11 million people living on the island. Believers are responding with an overwhelming desire to grow in their relationship with Christ.
God has clearly intervened in this nation. For many decades, Cuba was an atheistic society. But now thousands of Cubans are having first-time encounters with God and finding renewed faith in his Word.
This unprecedented growth has created a need for Bibles. It is estimated that 40 percent of believers do not have access to God’s Word. To share Scripture with one another, believers in Cuba have had to resort to some extreme measures—like copying Bible verses from 50-year-old, deteriorating Bibles on small pieces of paper.
That’s why the Biblical Commission of the Cuban Council of Churches (BC-CCC) set a goal to distribute one million Bibles to churches in Cuba by the end of 2017. We’re excited to report that more than 750,000 Bibles have been already distributed, and BC-CCC is in its final push to print and deliver the last quarter of the Bibles to Cuban churches.
Will you join us in asking God to supply Bibles for the church in Cuba—just like he provided resources for the church of Corinth?
Let’s Pray Together:
God, we thank you for the impact of your Word on Cuba’s people. We pray for ministry, financial, and prayer partners to come alongside the Biblical Commission of the Cuban Council of Churches in Cuba to provide the church with one million Bibles. Thank you that an unprecedented number of believers in Cuba now have constant access to the Bible. We pray for believers in Cuba to continue growing in their relationship with you through your Word.
