I was born and raised in a city. I’ve prayed for my city for years, especially for issues such as poverty, housing problems, struggling school systems, deteriorating transportation infrastructures and increased crime. But most importantly, I’ve prayed my city would reflect the truths found in the Bible.

American Bible Society is now working with ministry partners in six cities to ignite Scripture engagement across America so that each city would reflect the love, hope, compassion, kindness, justice and mercy that is found in Scripture.

We need your prayers for this work in Charlotte, Dallas, Kansas City, New York, Philadelphia and Phoenix. Ask God to spur the kind of Bible engagement that can transform cities.

Pray for:

• Churches: Pray that God will give local churches in U.S. cities an increased passion and hunger to study the Bible and share its truths.
• Innovative resources and tools: Ask God to inspire church leaders, congregants and youth to engage the Bible.
• Unity: Pray for unity among churches, ministries and community partners for an even greater impact within their cities around the Bible.
• Collaboration: Ask God to guide connections and collaboration for people on the ground who are ready to serve and equip leaders with Scripture engagement resources.
• Increased Scripture engagement: Pray that as people engage with God’s Word, healing, restoration and change would take place in cities.
