Praying For a Country Founded on Faith
Let us pray for U.S. politicians attending the National Prayer Breakfast
According to the latest State of the Bible survey, an overwhelming 90 percent of Americans believe elected officials should display peace, kindness, gentleness, and self-control.
The Bible agrees! In Galatians, it says:
“God’s Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.”
Galatians 5:22-23
What better way for government leaders to be spiritually encouraged than by gathering for a time of prayer?
Leaders Pray on February 8
Every year, the National Prayer Breakfast is held in Washington, D.C. It is hosted by members of the United States Congress, with the President of the United States in attendance. Also attending are leaders from all areas of government and commerce, as well as representatives from more than 120 nations.
This annual tradition, which began in 1953 and takes place on the first Thursday of February, is a reminder that our country was founded on biblical truths. Prayerfully, the timeless truths of God’s Word will continue to help guide our nation’s leaders today.
Will you join us in praying for those attending the breakfast on February 8, 2019, to be transformed by God’s Word?
Let’s Pray Together:
Father, thank you for leaders who founded our nation with you in mind. Thank you for the lasting tradition of the National Prayer Breakfast. We pray that as government officials gather in prayer, you will turn hearts and minds toward you.
