The Prayer Snapshot: “Praying the Bible for Your Family”
In this episode we pray for our families guided by Numbers 6:24-26
God cares about families. In fact, the concept of family was all his idea! In Genesis 1:27-28a (CEV) we read, “So God created humans to be like himself; he made men and women. God gave them his blessing and said: ‘Have a lot of children! Fill the earth with people and bring it under your control.’”
In this passage of Scripture, and in Genesis 2:18-24, we are introduced to the concepts of marriage and parenthood. These two concepts present a model of love, care, protection, and support for the family unit. That’s how important the institution of family is to God. It’s where we learn how to love others, love ourselves, and love Jesus Christ. It is also why Satan, our enemy, seeks to hurt and separate families. He will use all sorts of tactics like conflict, sickness, brokenness, and more to try to destroy our families.
In this episode of the Prayer Snapshot, the Prayer Team at American Bible Society shares how you can pray for your family and fight the enemy’s attacks using Scripture. Join us as we use the power of God’s Word to speak life and blessing over our families.
