Prayer Request: Audio Bible-Based Trauma Healing in the Great Lakes Region of Africa
Pray God’s Word will reach those devastated by trauma through the radio airwaves
In the Great Lakes region of Africa, war and violence have dominated the landscape for decades. Many people in this region have endured atrocities and experienced significant trauma.
Through Bible-based trauma healing, a ministry supported by American Bible Society’s financial partners, the healing power of God’s Word can help survivors of trauma in countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Uganda and Central African Republic. Bible-based trauma healing uses biblical truths and mental health best practices to help traumatized people experience God’s hope and healing.
Although the ministry is traditionally conducted through small groups, now, it can reach people in the Great Lakes region of Africa through radio airwaves.
About Audio Trauma Healing
The Bible-based audio trauma healing ministry is designed to reach the most remote, hostile areas of the Great Lakes Region of Africa where it’s almost impossible to attend in-person trauma healing sessions.
Episodes use stories, music, Bible verses and the guidance of mental health best practices to share Bible-based trauma healing through the airwaves of local radio stations. Listeners are then given an opportunity to respond by dialing a number at the end of the broadcast to connect to the local Bible Society for additional help.
Bible-based trauma healing audio sessions are currently being aired in 10 languages across 8 nations.
Join us in praying that the Bible-based trauma healing audio ministry will have a great impact in the Great Lakes region of Africa, and survivors will experience the grace, love and forgiveness that Jesus brings to the world.
Let’s Pray Together:
Father, we pray for your presence to be felt through every Bible-based trauma healing audio broadcast. Please bring physical, emotional and spiritual healing to those who have suffered trauma. Restore broken lives and transform painful memories into hopeful futures. Guide and strengthen the Bible Societies working to bring spiritual healing through the Bible. In Jesus’s name, Amen.
