The Prayer Snapshot: “Overcoming Fear”

In episode 12 we discuss the power to overcome fear through faith in Jesus Christ

Do you know what is the most frequently noted command in the Bible? It’s not “love God,” “love others,” or even “follow me.” No, the most frequent command in all of Scripture is, “Do not be afraid.”

It has been said that this admonition not to fear or some variation of it appears 365 times throughout Scripture—one for every day of the year! This may be because humanity has a tendency to fear, or maybe this is God’s way of letting us know that life will indeed be scary. But whatever the reason, God’s words, “Do not fear,” provide us with much needed comfort and security. God doesn’t want us to go one day without knowing that he is by our side and we need not be afraid. That should fill you with peace and courage!

In this episode of the Prayer Snapshot, the Prayer Team at American Bible Society shares how we can combat fear in our lives. Join us as we look into God’s Word to see what it says about fear and pray against fear controlling our lives.
