Touching Hearts, Young and Old, with the Hope of God’s Word
“Palestinians are reading the Bible ... Lives are being changed!”
Jameel* and his family were minorities among minorities. They were Christians living on the West Bank.
But, in truth, Jameel didn’t really know much about being a Christian. He never had a Bible before, nor did he understood God. That all changed when he went to Bible camp and heard Bible stories.
“The story of Joseph touched his heart,” Jameel’s mom said. The young child told his family that God would take care of them…even in the hardest of circumstances. Jameel’s interest in Scripture changed not only his life, but the lives of his entire family! His mom got her very own Bible and started reading it to the children every night.
Thanks to the support of American Bible Society financial partners, this entire family was changed and encouraged by God’s Word. As they engage in Scripture, seeds of peace and hope are being planted in the next generation! God’s Word gives hope for the future.
One of our partners on the ground, Nashat Filmon, executive director of the Palestinian Bible Society, says, “Palestinians are reading the Bible. Lives are being changed!”
Another young person at first refused to hear the story of the crucifixion. But after hearing it directly from God’s Word, he understood that the cross paid the price of his sin. Today, he is an active volunteer who helps share God’s Word through puppet shows in Gaza. He also reads his Bible daily.
Thanks to the generous support of American Bible Society financial partners, Scripture is placed into the hands and hearts of men, women, and children in the Middle East and beyond, in a language and format they can understand.
