Can the Church make a Difference in a City?

Praying for the gospel movement in the city of Charlotte

YES, says a growing network of church leaders in Charlotte. This partnership of more than 240 churches, believes that if they work together, they will see gospel transformation in their city.

“The goal of Jesus is for the world to know him, and the church must be united for that to occur,” said David Chadwick, Senior Pastor of Forest Hill Church.

The churches are working together through the “For Charlotte Mission Network” to address the most pressing gospel needs of the city, such as generational poverty, racial division, education inequality, and family structure divisions.

This unified effort is accelerating a gospel movement across the city like never before!

God is Moving in Charlotte

As the church in Charlotte works together to live out the gospel in word and deed, church leaders are beginning to see transformed individuals, families, and neighborhoods.

Already, several churches have hosted multi-racial Bible study groups to jumpstart the process of racial healing in their city and thousands have completed a 40-day Bible reading plan.

Another opportunity to accelerate the kingdom work is Movement Day, being held on March 16, 2019. This one-day gathering brings together ministry, marketplace, and nonprofit leaders to share the best ideas and practices to impact Charlotte.

Last year’s Movement Day, which was attended by 900 local leaders, fostered unity and new innovative ideas of collaboration. One of the attendees, president of Leighton Ford Ministries, said, “Movement Day Charlotte was the most significant gathering of Christian leaders in Charlotte since Billy Graham’s crusade in the 1990s.”

We rejoice over the mighty ways God is moving and uniting hearts in Charlotte to serve the city. Will you join us in praying for even greater impact in 2019?

Let’s Pray Together:

God, thank you for the growing network of churches working together in Charlotte to reach the least, the last, and the lost. We pray for those attending Movement Day to be equipped and empowered by your Holy Spirit so they can continue to advance the transforming power of your gospel throughout the city.
