In partnership with the Bowery Mission, the American Bible Society is reaching out to more than 15,000 homeless adults in New York City with programs that will empower their lives with the Word of God. During Thanksgiving, and in January, when record numbers of homeless people are often feeling their lowest, ABS is providing “God is Always With You” Scripture Portions, alongside a hot meal, to some 4,000 people. The Rev, Emilio A. Reyes, head of the outreach department at ABS, said, “This is an awesome opportunity to impact the lives of hurting people in our community by giving them the chance to exchange homelessness and spiritual brokenness for sound Christian living.”
