Bible Comes Alive for Deaf Mexicans
Innovative video translations of the Bible are serving Mexico’s deaf community
One thousand members of Mexico’s deaf community have the book of Acts in Mexican Sign Language for the first time. These new video translations are part of the Bible Society of Mexico’s efforts to bring the Bible to life for the 300,000 deaf people who use Mexican Sign Language.
Without the Bible in their heart language, only about 1 percent of deaf Mexicans have ever attended church. Only half of those identify as Christians. When the project concludes in 2020, all of God’s Word will be available for the deaf community.
Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
Help us share God's Word where needed most.
