Expanding Bible Outreach in Laos
LAOS - After 10 years of careful and consistent ministry in Laos, the prayers of God’s people are being answered. Oppression is giving way to the desire for God’s Word. American Bible Society is launching its most widespread program of Bible distribution ever in Laos, working with local churches and Christian leaders.
There are currently more than 140,000 Christians in Laos. The government applies strict measures, and the churches who do not comply risk being closed. The government also forbids religious material from being imported into the country, so American Bible Society works with Laotian partners to help them expand their ministry.
New believers are eager to engage with God’s Word and the Bible has become part of their daily life, and now the need is growing.
Our goal is to provide at least 20,000 Laotians with the chance to own a copy of the Bible or New Testament in the coming months, and at least 50,000 persons will be exposed to the Word of God, through Scripture selections. To reach the goal of helping provide Bibles to 20,000 Laotians, American Bible Society needs the help of caring friends like you. Each $5 you give means that another Laotian will be able to hold and read God’s Word for themselves.
God’s Word is alive and working powerfully in the lives of more and more Laotians. Please pray, and give as you are able, for this growing outreach to a sometimes forgotten people.
Thanks to the support of our faithful financial partners, American Bible Society has been engaging people with the life-changing message of God’s Word for more than 200 years.
Help us share God's Word where needed most.
