Right now, many of our nation’s sons and daughters, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters are in harm’s way. They are far from home, lonely and frightened.

The brave men and women of our military are scattered around the world in some of the most hostile locations. But with the help of our financial partners, American Bible Society is sharing the comfort and peace of God’s Word.

“We’re in about 140 different countries right now,” says Chaplain Colonel Arthur C. Pace (Ret.), Former Director of our Armed Services Ministry. “And we face an enemy who is dedicated to harming Americans.”

Imagine driving by a car on the roadside that moments later explodes and kills your friends. Pace says that is exactly the type of danger our Troops face daily.

“It is important for them to be able to withdraw back to their bunk and to lose themselves in the Word of God,” Pace says. “To go to that oasis and spend time with Him, to read the Scriptures and to pray, and to know that you are in God’s arms.”

The Bibles you help provide are made specially for our Troops and include Bible engagement materials. For many Service Members, it may be the first Bible they have ever received!

Pace says, “We not only put the Bible in their hands, we also show them how to get it into their hearts…We’re engaging them in the Scriptures. We include solid Bible engagement material within the Bible itself.”

Because of the compassion of our financial partners, American Bible Society serves the military, Veterans, and their family members with Bibles and devotional materials. “That’s a little over 50 million people that we are responsible for,” Pace says.
