For many people in Rwanda who wish to know Scripture, buying a personal Bible to keep in their hearts and homes is simply not possible. About two out of five people in the country live in poverty, which means many cannot afford to purchase a Bible of their own.

One woman, Jean*, practiced witchcraft and came from a family that worshipped idols. She also had frequent marital difficulties, to the point that she felt her marriage would fall apart.

Joseph* also struggled when he needed to sell his land to pay for his wife’s medical care, and he became depressed.

But thanks to our dedicated Partners, people throughout Rwanda are receiving God’s Word through audio Bibles — and changing their lives forever.

According to Jean, the Bible completely transformed her relationship with her family. She says, “We are now better off because of this audio Bible listening program, and I am happy because my family has joined, too. I am surviving thanks to the Word of God.”

For Joseph, joining the audio Bible listening group helped heal his heart. He says, “Now, I like to read the Word of God and talk to others. I now have hope for the future.”
