Rabin* is the youngest of his two siblings. He lives in Bangladesh, a Muslim-majority country. Like many others who live in rural Bangladesh, Rabin’s family is very poor, and he is unable to read.

As the youngest child, Rabin and his mother had a very special connection. When she recently and unexpectedly passed away from a stroke, Rabin’s world was shattered. He was deeply grieved, filled with uncertainty, discouragement, and despair.

In the midst of those dark, painful days, Rabin heard something that gave him hope.

Thanks to the support of Bible Society friends like you, the church near Rabin’s home received Proclaimer audio Bibles. They scheduled listening groups for people to come and hear God’s Word in their own language.

Rabin attended and was shocked by what happened next. “When I heard the Word of God through the audio Bible, I found the light of hope in the midst of mourning my mother,” he shares. “I got courage for how to lead my life through the pain.”

Now, Rabin finds great comfort in his favorite verse: “Come to me, all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28 GNT).
