“I was so happy to receive my Bible.”
Delivering hope in North Macedonia
Living in poverty in North Macedonia means much more than not having enough to eat. It means feeling trapped by life, wondering if things will ever get better. Despair creeps into every thought and action.
Sadly, this is daily life for many in North Macedonia. COVID-19’s economic impact has made living conditions even more dire as many more people lose their jobs. People like Jovana* are crying out for help and hope.
Growing up in the capital city of Skopje, Jovana was no stranger to the bleak realities of poverty that surrounded her. She faced a future without options, purpose, or hope.
But when Jovana met Petko Zlateski, the former General Secretary of the Bible Society of North Macedonia, her life changed. Because of our generous financial partners, Petko was able to give Jovana what she had been searching for — the Good News that is only found in the Bible.
“I was so happy to receive my Bible,” she says. “After reading and thinking about God’s Word, I better understand myself and other people.”
Imagine the relief Jovana started to feel as soon as she began reading God’s Word. No longer would she feel trapped and hopeless — she had finally found salvation!
“My life is changed,” Jovana says, smiling. “My Bible gives me hope to believe in eternal life.”
This is the hope, joy, and everlasting life that our generous financial partners are giving to people throughout Eastern Europe. We thank you for helping transform lives for Christ.
